A group of temples constructed in honour of the Hindu god Vishnu, the site has since transformed into a Buddhist place of worship. What is the best time to go to Cambodia?
In the words of one of our local guides, ‘Cambodia has three seasons – hot, hotter and hottest!’ Our Cambodia group travel experiences typically run from July through to March, avoiding the uncomfortably hot dry season. The most popular months are from November to March when the weather is mostly dry, but Cambodia’s countryside is at its most verdant during the wet season from July to November. The rain, while heavy, only lasts between 1-2 hours each day.
What is the food like in Cambodia?
Cambodian food is fresh, flavourful and not too spicy compared to many of its Southeast Asian neighbours. Rice and noodles are common and often served with with grilled meats, soups and curries. A popular local dish is amok - a mild fish curry with coconut milk. You’ll also find tasty street food, from fried noodles to grilled skewers. We often visit market where you can try local snacks and traditional meals. Your local tour leader is also on hand to help you navigate the region’s unique food scene.
Is Cambodia safe?
Yes. Cambodia is generally very safe for travellers. As is the case with any dense city or tourist-heavy location, stay alert and keep an eye on your belongings, though incidents are very rare. In the unlikely event you do encounter any issues, your local tour leader is on hand to support you.
