Going off the grid


In an ever-changing digital age, more and more travellers are less inclined to head to the tourist hotspots, and are instead moving towards the great outdoors. With fewer opportunities to connect to Wi-Fi you'll have a much better time getting closer to nature.

Natural Wonders of Guyana

Travel to this hidden corner of South America where few tourists venture. While Brazil sees an average of 6 million visitors per year, Guyana receives around 300,000 annually, making it a true hidden gem. The Natural Wonders of Guyana are home to lush canopy walkways in Iwokrama Rainforest, unique birdlife along the Burro Burro River and bustling markets in Georgetown. You’ll be well off-grid as you explore remote villages and trails before settling down in quaint lodges surrounded by acres of wilderness.

Brazilian Amazon by Boat

Forget the digital world as you meander the Amazon River by boat, travelling from Belem to Manaus. Walk West Cornwall

Embark on a low-carbon trekking tour of West Cornwall, soaking up the constant sea views. From a homebase in Penzance, you’ll venture the rugged landscape of the South West Coast Path. Pass the hidden coves at Cudden Point and Prussia Cove to reach the scenic Praa Sands. On a hike to Land’s End you’ll observe the herring gulls and peregrine falcons that inhabit the cliffs, passing Cape Cornwall along the way. At the end of this rewarding trek, you’ll catch the bus back to Penzance.

Spain to Morocco Rail Adventure

Travelling predominantly by train and bus from Spain to Morocco, discover scenic Andalucian villages and magnificent Imperial Cities. The Andalucia Express takes you on a relaxing journey through the countryside, passing painted villages along the way, before you board a ferry to Tangier in Morocco. Later, visit the iconic King Hassan II Mosque before catching another train from Casablanca to Marrakech.

Beginning in the heart of neon-illuminated Tokyo, you’ll explore one of the busiest fish markets in the country before enjoying a complimentary fresh sushi lunch. Since 2019 walking trips have seen a 55% increase, while cycling tours have also seen a real uptick. Even beginner cyclists can embark on more active trips thanks to e-bikes.

Cycle Kerala

Over 13 days you’ll cycle Southern India’s backroads, taking in the tea and rubber plantations and tropical forests along the way. For the ultimate fitness fanatic a bucket-list worthy trek is the perfect adventure for 2023. Conquer the climb to the highest point in Africa at 5,895m. The ascent takes place across seven days, maximising your summit chances by slowing down the journey. Soak up the epic scenery of the surrounding mountains and enjoy wild camping in remote locations, before finally reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
