Statement on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

Modern Slavery Statement 2023/24

Explore Worldwide Ltd. is committed to making ethical business choices and does not tolerate any form of human rights abuse, including modern slavery or human trafficking, in any part of our business. Explore will not knowingly support or deal with any company that engages in such practices. We strive to develop and maintain systems and controls that safeguard against slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain to fulfil these commitments.

This statement is made according to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 October 2024.

Our Business
Explore is a small group adventure tour operator and part of the Hotelplan UK group of companies. Since launching in 1981, Explore has grown to become one of the UK’s best adventure travel companies, offering over 350 tours in around 100 countries. Explore is a registered business in the UK with a North American sales office based in Boston, USA and an Australian sales office based in Brisbane. Sustainability is embedded within the fibre of Explore; it emanates from the inside out. Explore has a sustainability strategy based on the 2015 UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. These goals define a common framework of action and language to address the world’s most urgent challenges, and our approach to managing the risks of modern slavery form part of this strategy.

Our Supply Chain
We operate trips in collaboration with our network of trusted local partners. These destination management companies provide packages of services that include resources such as; accommodation, transport and local staff. Some of our trips do visit countries considered at higher risk of modern slavery and human rights abuses. We are focused on working with long-term, strategic partners who demonstrate the same commitment to their people to ensure modern slavery plays no part in their business or ours.

Our Next Steps
We’re currently finalising a series of new policies on safeguarding and modern slavery with copies to be published on our website in 2024. These comprehensive new policies will help build awareness and understanding, identify risk and develop robust control measures whilst providing easy and visible access to feedback mechanisms.
